DAGUPAN CITY, April 30 (PIA) — This year’s Bangus festival maybe short on duration, but festival events have morphed to other unique attractions to make up for the shorter time to celebrate the global event.

More than 24 activities were lined up to add color to the festivities and compensate for its abbreviated duration.

DAGUPAN CITY, April 23 — This year’s Pista’y Dayat (Feast of the Sea) in Pangasinan is not just about thanking the bounties of the seas or drawing tourists. It is also a toast for the environment.

Provincial Administrator Rafael Baraan said the community should expect crowd-drawing events except fireworks display, which has become a tradition to open the activities.

DAGUPAN CITY, April 3 (PIA) — All roads will lead to Pangasinan as it marks its 433rd founding anniversary on April 5.

Maria Luisa Elduayan, provincial tourism officer, said the event will kick off with a thanksgiving mass at the Capitol plaza at 7:30 am.

One the event’s highlights is the presentation of the book, “Pangasinan History and Development” to Governor Amado T. Espino Jr.

DAGUPAN CITY, Mar 27 (PIA) — Pangasinan products and projects assisted by the Department of Science and Technology were once again showcased in the 2013 Regional Agri-Fishery Fair held recently at the CSI Mall in Dagupan City.

Engr. Felipe D. Andrada, provincial director of DOST-Pangasinan said the fair aims to promote fresh and processed agri-fishery commodities in the region to feature the best resources and exhibit of local culture and tradition.

PANGASINAN, Mar 23 (PIA) — The province reaped another honor when it was awarded by the Department of Agriculture as among the country’s top 10 rice producers for 2012.

Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala conferred the plaque of recognition and P4-million worth of agricultural projects to Pangasinan Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. during the 2nd Agri-Pinoy Rice Achievers Awards held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.

DAGUPAN CITY, Mar. 16 (PIA) — From Bangus to handicraft to tourism, the Pangasinenses have come out as big winners in the three industries earning more income for ordinary folks, according to President Benigno S. Aquino III.

In a meeting with local leaders, Aquino said that Pangasinan’s bangus industry has generated more than P135 million in domestic sales and nearly $840,000 in export sales in 2012 alone.

Red Cross Chapter Administrator Florame Magalong said Red Cross exceeded its target of 5,000 participants when the total registrants reached 5,540.

PANGASINAN, Jan 26 (PIA) — The provincial government has delivered anew tourism and information kiosks to seven Pangasinan towns aimed at promoting the places of interest and possibilities for recreation and enjoyment here to locals and visitors. 

These tourism and information kiosks were given to the towns of Binalonan, Laoac, Pozorrubio, and Sison last January 16 and to the towns of Alcala, Bautista, and Villasis on Wednesday.
